The Ranger Report #008.1
Amuse Your Bouche
Sitting on the porch just now, on one of those deceptive Atlanta days when the cool breeze tricks us into thinking that summer has released its chokehold, and all will be smooth and cool sailing into the fall.
Cardigans! Flannel! Pumpkins!
Suckers.
Mark our words: summer will be back. The heat and humidity aren’t done with us. Yet it’s also true that something deep-seated shifts after Labor Day. School is back in session. Sunset comes earlier.
And The Ranger Report returns to your inbox.
Did we go anywhere fascinating and fun for the summer? Yes, we did. We went to Reynoldstown. Sat on front porches till our shirts stuck to us. Walked the dogs early in the morning. Swatted skeeters. Picked tomatoes. Stuck to the furniture.
And we worked. Diligently and quietly. In small groups, with big ideas.
We’ve been making and thinking, planning and stewing.
The Reynoldstown Rangers would dearly love to share with you (and the world) how we spent our summer vacation. We’ve been keeping a secret for months now, but finally – the beans, they gonna spill.
The Wheelbarrow Festival is this Saturday, September 7. Look for us at the corner of the basketball court – we’ll be there until about 5:30. And we’ll also be back next week, with the second part of this newsletter, and in it – the beans, the tea, the 411, the skinny, the scoop, and the dirt.
Till soon.
Ranger out.
